Social Service

As the aged and the elderly face the different obstacles in life, We serve them by opening comfortable homes with beautiful surroundings so that we may care for them and serve them, enabling them to make good use of their remaining life; to accompany them as they journey through the last leg of their earthly existence.

Social services

Because of the enthusiasm for the service of our foundress, Saint Catherine of Sina, the sisters participated in social service work with indomitable spirit. Through the two apostolic service units: homes for the elderly and nursing homes, we directly serve the elderly. Day after day, year after year, 24 hours a day, there are sisters guarding the elders and giving them the greatest care and company
These two apostolic services have brought great grace and comfort to Catholics, and we also provide opportunities for the elderly who do not yet know God to get to know God, get close to God, and receive God’s salvation. The elders can attend Mass, pray the Rosary together, and share faith together. They are also very happy to receive the sacrament of reconciliation, sacrament of anointment, and sacrament of Eucharist.
The elders seek the sisters for help and sisters spent times with them, talk to them; the sisters will also go to the
bedside of the elderly with disabilities to greet and care for them. Although the sisters working here are very busy, but seeing the joy of the elderly, the sisters also feel the joy, and all the hard work is worth it.

In addition to the services sisters provide for the elders in the institution, the sisters also develop their enthusiasm for service in the community. Every year, the sisters invite nearby community elders to participate in the garden party, giving Christmas gifts and go caroling, bring the good news to the community. The sisters will also visit the neighborhood elders, do community care, and send loving bento and other activities. In the hope that every elder can feel God’s love and live a peaceful and happy life.
The sisters also provide services for Vietnamese spouses (new immigrants) in need of assistance, such as translation, accompaniment, and adaptation to the new environment.
